Two ASUS products – the ROG Rampage V Extreme gaming motherboard and the elite STRIX GTX 980 Ti graphics card have managed to set new global performance records.
Some of the world’s top overclockers broke performance records recently on a build that used the company’s ROG Rampage V Extreme gaming motherboard and the Strix GTX 980 Ti graphics card. A total of 16 global records were broken, using some of the leading 2D and 3D benchmarks available.
The team included German overclockers Daniel Schier (‘Dancop’) and Roman Hartung (‘der8auer’). The duo put the build through its paces in various 2D and 3D benchmarks such as HWBOT Prime, wPrime 32M, Cinebench R11.5, Cinebench R15, GPUPI for CPU, Geekbench 3, Catzilla 720P, 3D Mark Vantage Performance, 3DMark 11 Performance, 3DMark Fire Strike, and 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme. In 2D benchmarks, seven global first places were secured while in 3D benchmarks a total of nine global first places and one world record was set.
