ASUS Padfone 2 and Padstation Preview

The most radical change on the new Padfone Station tablet companion is the docking method of the phone. Unlike the previous design which used a cassette-like compartment, now the phone intuitively slides into a sleeve with no extra hassle (there is even an earthquake inducing feedback when it is successfully docked). Weighing in at only 649g with the phone inserted, it is lighter than most of the competition including Apple's new iPad. The tablet itself cannot be used as a standalone device.

The gorgeous screen of the tablet is in in our favourite 16:10 aspect ratio (1280×800), which makes it ideal for web browsing and document editing. There is also a discrete 5000mAH battery to take care of the larger 10.1 inch IPS+ screen.
