ASUS Launches New Radeon RX 500 Series Gaming Graphics Cards

Asus and Republic of Gamers today announced the launch of their new Radeon RX 500 Series Gaming graphics cards, based on AMD’s “refined” new Polaris GPUs. The new models include Strix Series, Dual Series, and Expedition Series graphics cards.

ROG Strix RX 580, RX 570 and RX 560 Series

All the new Strix Series cards come with ASUS Aura Sync illumination, allowing gamers to sync the RGB illumination with other Aura Sync compatible products in their system. The flagship ROG Strix RX 580 comes with an impressive boost clock of 1431 MHz in Top Edition mode, delivering superior performance when compared to the reference card. It uses a 2.5-slot width design, which Asus claims helps provide 40 percent greater heat sink surface area for improved heat dissipation compared to previous two-slot designs. The ROG Strix RX 570 and RX 560 card utilize the DirectCU II cooling technology, with direct-GPU-contact heat pipes and patented wing-blade 0dB fan design.

ASUS Dual RX 580 Series

If you don’t wish to go all-out with the ROG Strix RX 580, the Dual RX 580 series is likely to appeal to you. The card offers ‘sweet spot’ graphics performance that makes it ideal for VR as well as eSports gaming. It features the company’s patented wing-blade fans that deliver great airflow while operating at up to 3 times quieter volume compared to the reference cards. For VR, the card comes with two HDMI ports, allowing a VR headset to be connected directly to your PC.

ASUS Expedition RX 570 Series

The Expedition RX 570 graphics cards are aimed at iCafes, where high reliability is the number 1 requirement. The cards come equipped with dual-ball-bearing fans that does not suffer from the oil drying problem that is sometimes found in sleeve-bearing fans. They are claimed to last up to twice as long, while ensuring quiet performance under low loads with the 0dB technology.

ASUS RX 560 and RX 550 Series

The affordable RX 560 and 550 cards feature IP5X certified dust-resistant fans, which means dust will not affect that card’s reliability and lifespan. While the RX 560 is ideal for eSports gamers, the RX 550 is more suited in HTPCs or other smaller PC builds.
