Asus launches GTX 780 and HD 7990 in Singapore

Feeling the itch to do a major GPU upgrade for your gaming rig this holiday weekend? Asus Singapore has you covered with recently launched offerings from both the green and red camp. Prices and specs of the reference cards after the break

The GTX 780 is a scaled down Geforce Titan (with a much more palatable price tag) while the HD 7990 is essentially two HD 7970 on a single PCB. Both cards are bundled with Asus's GPU Tweak graphics tuning utility.

If you are looking for absolute compute performance, the HD 7990 blows the GTX 780 out of the water here with almost 8.2 teraflops of compute power (with full double precision FP64 support that latter does not have). However gaming purists might want to opt for the GTX 780 due to its superior frame-time latencies (translating to smoother gameplay), not to mention the HD 7990 coil whine tendencies and questionable CrossfireX scaling with its current set of drivers.
