ASUS Extreme GeForce 7800GTX TOP Edition

On this bright sunny sunday, VR-Zone takes a look at the latest 7800GTX on the shelves, the Asus Extreme Geforce 7800GTX TOP edition. Asus claims that the specific TOP edition 7800GTX superceeds the reference 7800GTX by up to 14%! Will the 7800GTX TOP live up to its name? Let’s check it out in this very review.

Asus has recently sent us one of their latest toy for the enthusiast market,
the Extreme 7800GTX TOP Edition. Just what is so special about this 7800GTX
TOP? Looking at the picture above, one would realise that the TOP comes fitted
with an Arctic Silencer heatsink fan, that promises superior cooling capabilities
while creating nothing more than just a whisper. With that, Asus also ramped
up the clockspeeds of the Asus 7800GTX TOP cards all the way from 430/1200 to
486/1350!!! Definitely an interesting stock overclock that’s
promised by the manufacturer.

As mentioned in the introduction, Asus promises an improvement of up to 14%
on these TOP cards, as opposed to the 7800GTX reference cards by Nvidia. How
will it fare against the reference cards? We will take a look at the performance
