ASUS Eee Slate and Zenbook land in Singapore


This afternoon, ASUS Singapore unveiled the highly anticipated Zenbook that features a sleek and stylish design, boasts two-seconds always instant on and SonicMaster technology for superb audio experience. The company also launched the ASUS Eee Slate B121 tablet, designed for both consumers and small businesses.

The ASUS Zenbook sports a silver exterior with a concentric circle design, and measures 2.8mm at the thinnest point. It incorporates an instant-on feature that can resume the system in approximately two seconds, and standby times of up to two weeks. The Zenbook is available in two models – UX21E and UX31E. The UX21E comes in the choice of Intel Core i5-2467M or Intel Core i7-2667M processsor with 4GB DDR3 memory, 128GB SSD, 0.3-megapixel camera and features 11.6-inch LED backlit TFT LCD display (1366×768). Available from tomorrow, the ASUS UX21E is retailing at S$1,398 (w/GST) and S$1,598 (w/GST) respectively.

The UX31E with 13.3-inch TFT LCD display (1600×900) is available in Intel Core i5-2557M processor with 4GB DDR3 memory and 128GB SSD, as well as Intel Core i7-2667M with 4GB DDR3 memory and 256GB SSD. It will be retailing atS$1,498 (w/GST) and S$1,998 (w/GST) respectively

A USB3.0 port (with USB Charger+ technology for quick charging), micro HDMI and mini VGA connectors are on the right, while the left holds another USB and headphone ports, and SD memory card reader (for the UX31E).

The ASUS Eee Slate B121 claims to be the most powerful tablet PC for businesses, corporate, goverment as well as consumers. It features Intel Core i5-470um processor, 12.1-inch LED-backlit WXGA capacitive and electromagnetic screen, 64GB SSD, and runs Microsoft Windows 7 Professional operating system. The Eee Slate B121 also comes with built-in security of Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and one-year free unlimited ASUS WebStorage access. The ASUS Eee Slate B121 is available from tomorrow 9 November at S$1,699 (w/GST).
