ASUS A8N32-SLi Deluxe

SLi x16, passive chipset cooling, flexible SLi bridge, 8-phase power, eSATA – Just how good is this brand new board from Asus? Read on to find out more!

Asus is a well known brand in the motherboard industry, and is often the choice of enthusiasts. Today, we take a look at one of its latest motherboards, the Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe.

The A8N32-SLi Deluxe supports AMD Socket 939 processors, including the AMD Sempron 939, AMD Athlon 64, AMD Athlon 64 X2, AMD Athlon 64 FX and lately, the AMD Opteron models which are built for Socket 939.

This high-end board packs in many goodies, including passive chipset cooling, external SATA, and most importantly, it supports PCIe 16x for both graphics cards even in SLi mode. Not surprisingly, Asus hypes this as an overclocker-friendly board too. No doubt, this board is going to command a premium over other SLi motherboards. But is SLi x16 really necessary for better performance in SLi mode? Or is it something that is only going to come in useful a long way down the road?
