Android “Honeycomb” media player user interface exposed

While Nexus S may be the first smartphone to run the new Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, but already there are prototype devices which are running the next version of the OS called “Honeycomb”, though it has not been finalized whether it will be version 2.4 or 3.0. Regardless, the media player for Android “Honeycomb” sports a sleek user interface that can match Apple’s iTunes.

Even before Android 2.3 Gingerbread was announced, Google has said that the Android system will offer powerful music player features including streaming songs from the cloud to the smartphones. However, the feature has yet to appear on Android 2.3 and we are led to believe it may come to the next version – Android Honeycomb.

Recently there were some videos of a hands-on of an Android Honeycomb mobile device and the media player looks promising enough to compete with the Apple iTunes. Well, the Motorola Droid Xoom will be appearing at CES this week so we should be able to see what Android Honeycomb can offer.
