AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Review

SiSoft Sandra 2004 SP2:

SiSoft Sandra 2004 will be the first benchmark used on the Athlon 64 3800+. For those unfamiliar with Sandra, it is a very popular PC benchmarking suite that allows you to test individual components inside your PC. We’ll be using Sandra’s Memory Bandwidth test to show 3800+’s raw memory bandwidth performance.

This is our first experience with a dual channel memory controller capable of running non-registered memory, and as you can see from the benchmark scores, the move to non-ECC memory proved to be very positive. The Athlon 64 3800+ scores over 400mb/s faster than the Athlon 64 FX-51 in both our ALU and FPU tests.
