Alleged spy shots of the rear panel of an upcoming Android smartphone from Nokia have hit the web today, along with a few leaked renders out of China that claim to show the three color options the Nokia “D1C” will be offered in.
While the authenticity of the images cannot be verified at this point, the live images and the renders do seem to match. However, we cannot be certain if the live images and the renders are of the exact same device or two different devices.
As you can see in the images below, the rear panel suggests the smartphone will feature a metal build with curved corners and a thin profile. The design doesn’t seem to be similar to Lumia smartphones from Nokia, which is a good thing.
Moving on to the renders, it appears the smartphone will be offered in three color options – Black, Gold, and White. From the front, the smartphone seems to be quite similar to a few Lumia handsets, with the Nokia logo positioned towards the right corner of the top bezel.
The first crop of Android smartphones from Nokia is rumored to arrive in early 2017, with an announcement likely at the Mobile World Congress in February. More smartphones as well a tablet running on Android are expected to join the lineup in the second half of 2017. Among them will be two flagship smartphones that could feature Quad HD resolution OLED displays, “Graphene” camera sensors, a fingerprint scanner, IP68 dust and water resistance, and Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Nokia’s Z-Launcher UI.
