After recently launching the updated Alienware 18 gaming notebook, the boutique gaming brand has now updated its Alienware 13, 15, and 17 models with updated hardware.
The update brings a number of hardware changes such as faster PCIe SSDs with 4GB/s transfer speeds, newer Killer wireless and Ethernet networking hardware, and a USB Type-C connector that brings USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt 3 support to the notebooks. In addition to these changes, the Alienware 13 model also gets a larger 62Whr battery for longer battery life.
As far as CPU options go, the Alienware 13 gets 5th Gen Intel Broadwell processors, while the 15-inch and 17-inch models get 4th Gen Haswell processors for now. All the three models are being offered with NVIDIA’s latest Maxwell mobile Geforce GPUs, with the Alienware 15 also getting a new AMD Radeon HD M395X option.
Skylake will be offered on these notebooks in the near future. Dell has already started testing Skylake CPUs on these models, so you can expect the Skylake equipped models to be launched in the coming weeks.
