Acer has refreshed its Predator 15 and Predator 17 gaming notebooks with improved specifications and some cool new features.
Both notebooks now get the Skylake Core i7-6700HQ processor and NVIDIA GPUs with higher VRAM and improved cooling. They can now be configured with either the GTX 970M with up to 6GB GDDR5 memory or a GTX 980M with up to 8GB GDDR5 memory.
The cooling system has been revamped with the new “AeroBlade” fans. These 0.1mm blades supposedly allow for 15 percent greater airflow under heavy load, preventing any throttling. Under less demanding workloads, the fan operates silently, ensuring quiet operation.
Acer has also made some changes to the keyboard illumination. The “ProZone” keyboard now has five different zones that can each be lit separately. New dedicated PredatorSense control panel launcher key has been added as well, which allows gamers to customize shortcuts as well as macros.
