Acer has introduced a more powerful and updated version of its Predator 17 gaming notebook, the Predator 17X.
The key difference between the Predator 17 and the Predator 17X is that the new model packs a desktop NVIDIA GTX 980 card, making it VR-ready. You will be able to use the notebook with two of the most popular VR headsets out there – Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive VR.
Rest of the specs include a 17.3-inch display with up to 4K resolution (100% Adobe RGB coverage), Intel Core i7-6820HK processor, up to 64GB of DDR4, customizable RGB lighting on the keyboard, and up to three SSDs in RAID 0 configuration. With all that power inside, you obviously wouldn’t expect it to be portable by any means. And it isn’t, with a weight of 10 pounds.
Acer Predator 17X will first launch in China next month, followed by Europe and North America in the month of June. In the US, prices are expected to start at $2,799.
