Only 13 Phones Will Receive the Windows 10 Creators Update

Windows 10 Creators Update

Microsoft has announced that it is soon going to release the Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 15204 to insiders in the Fast Ring. However, the Windows 10 Creators Update will not be available to a large number of devices. Only 13 Windows 10 Mobile devices have been confirmed by Microsoft to officially support the Windows Insider Program going forward.

The 13 devices include the following:

  • HP Elite x3
  • Microsoft Lumia 550
  • Microsoft Lumia 640/640XL
  • Microsoft Lumia 650
  • Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL
  • Alcatel IDOL 4S
  • Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL
  • SoftBank 503LV
  • VAIO Phone Biz
  • MouseComputer MADOSMA Q601
  • Trinity NuAns NEO

If you device does not figure in the above list, it means that Microsoft will no longer be providing software devices to it in the future. While it is certainly disappointing, Microsoft claims that the decision was made because it could not provide consumers the “best possible experience” on the older devices. Which is why it is rolling out the Windows 10 Creators Update only for newer devices.

Microsoft also announced that it has released the new Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16176 for PCs. The new update includes several improvements and fixes, along with quite a few new features such as Linux Serial Device support in Windows Subsystem.
