12.9 inch iPad reportedly being tested by Foxconn

Recently it has been rumored quite a few times that Apple may be working on a larger iPad, one is believed to be undergoing testing at Foxconn reportedly.

Apple iPad 5 and iPad mini 2

Foxconn has been a long time manufacturing partner for Apple, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise if it was testing out the larger iPad. This particular tablet has been rumored quite a few times, but Apple is yet to confirm if it has plans to launch a tablet with this big a screen. It is a possibility that the 12.9 inch iPad being tested at Foxconn might only be one of several prototypes that Apple is working on right now, so it can’t be said for sure if it will ever see the light of day.

Various analysts are of the view that Apple might launch a larger iPad next year, even if the screen size isn’t exactly 12.9 inches. 2014 is believed to be the year of big tablets, even Samsung is expected to throw its hat in the ring, the Korean manufacturer is rumored to be working on a 12.2 inch and a massive 13.3 inch tablet.

Information about the specifications of the 12.9 inch iPad is scarce at this point in time, it is not known exactly what the tablet might be capable of due to its internal hardware. Availability and pricing information hasn’t been rumored, though one can’t expect this tablet or another new iPad for that matter to release before mid-2014.
