NVIDIA 6800 GS Voltage Mod Guide

Want to give your 6800 GS a boost in frame rates but can’t seem to push the card any further? Our Forum member Jason shows you how to enhance voltages and drops you some amazing results with just good old air-cooling!

Our Forum member Jason, AKA as qwerty57, has shared some 6800
GS voltage mods with us:

It is assumed that modders have a basic knowledge of Voltage
modifications. For a beginnner’s walk through, you can check this
guide.

For GPU Core voltage mod, please solder a 10K ohms variable
resistor to the point marked above. Remember to set it at maximum of 10K ohms
and connect the other leg of the VR to ground. Measure the voltage at the check
point marked with your multimeter. Tune down resistance slowly to increase core
voltage.

For VDD/Memory voltage, please solder a 20k ohms variable resistor
to the leg of the ic chip marked by the yellow dot. Set it at maximum resistance
of 20k ohms and connect the other leg of the VR to ground. Measure the voltage
at the check point marked with your multimeter. Tune down resistance slowly
to increase VDD/Memory voltage.

After the mods, Jason got his cards to really extreme results wioth just air-cooling.
